Whenever I used watercolors on newsprint, the paper was in terrible condition. so I was wondering what to do.

After thinking about the root cause, I thought that reducing the amount of water would be the solution.

As it turned out, reducing the amount of water allowed me to paint with watercolors on newspaper without any problems. I'll continue to paint like this.
